The Ofbiz integration project comprised integration of the template for an eCommerce
store with OfBiz, a web-based, open source enterprise application. Integration components
included:

- Category pages with category content and product lists
- Account registration pages
- Account management pages
- Checkout pages
- Integration with Google Checkout, Paypal and Payflow Pro for payment processing
- Newsletter sign ups
- Quote requests
- Content management
- Integration with tracking on Google Analytics
In addition Symmetry also ensured that the eCommerce site was W3C compliant and
was certified for security by HackerSafe.
Product Feed Generation
Symmetry’s Product Feed Generator was designed and developed to enable clients to
configure and automatically generate product feeds in multiple formats from any
RDBMS database. The tool enables etailers and eCommerce stores to automatically
supply up-to-date product and pricing information to search engines, shopping channels
and comparison sites such as Yahoo, Amazon, MSN, Froogle, Shopping.Com, thefind.com,
Become, Builders Square et cetera. Symmetry’s product feed tool allows shop owners
to quickly configure product data and map information to formats, schedule feeds,
and upload feeds to FTP sites. Feeds can be generated as CSV and XML.
Integration with online web stores
The client, an online retailer, had web stores in multiple channels such as Yahoo,
and Amazon. Orders received on these channels had to be keyed in manually from the
order-related files downloaded from these channels. Symmetry created a single interface
that automatically imported orders from various channels into the client’s order
processing system. The application also ran a de-dupe of customers to ensure that
duplicate customer records were not created.
